Agent Config for GitHub Copilot

For GitHub Copilot, init writes nothing and prints a hint instead. Pick one of two routes:

Copilot CLI plugin
Copilot Chat (export)

copilot marketplace add event4u-app/agent-config
copilot plugin install agent-config@event4u-agent-config

What it is: a discovery-only plugin — a read-only MCP server plus one install-pointer skill, with no hooks. It lets Copilot find and read skills; it does not install the rules or the commands.

Can it block? No — instructions only.

Reload: start a new Copilot CLI session.

Copilot Chat in VS Code, JetBrains and Neovim reads .github/copilot-instructions.md from the repository. Generate it:

agent-config export --tool=agents-md --output=AGENTS.md

What it is: a short instructions file that points to AGENTS.md. You decide whether to commit both files — this is the one route where files land in a repository, because you put them there.

Can it block? No — instructions only.

Reload: reopen the chat panel.
